What we hold, and why

Short, and true. If something here is not what you find when you look, write and tell us.

What we collect

When you write to us: your name, your address and what you wrote.

When you use a page we made for you, such as a page where a linguist revises a translation, or a page we made for a partner: the answers you enter and the time you spend, which are the work you are doing for us or with us.

On this public site: the ordinary server logs any website keeps, and anonymous counts of which pages are read. Those counts come from Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and records nothing about you as a person. This site sets no cookies at all, which is why it does not ask you to accept any. If you change the theme, your browser remembers that choice; it stays in your browser and never reaches us. If you arrived by a link or a printed code we gave out, we count which one: your browser keeps its name for this visit only, in the tab's session storage, and forgets it when you close the tab. It reaches us only as a label on those anonymous counts, and beside your message or your booking if you choose to send one.

What we do with it

We use it to do the work you asked for, to keep the record of that work, and to write to you about it.

We do not sell it, and we do not share it for advertising or with anyone who is not doing the work with us. When a book's Assurance Report names the linguist who revised it, it names them only as they chose to be named.

Where it lives, and for how long

On our own systems, and with the providers who run them for us.

We keep it as long as the work and its record need it, and we delete it when you ask. The one thing we cannot cut a piece out of is the record of a delivered translation: it has to stay whole to be worth anything.

Your rights, and who to ask

Credence Translations. Ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and we will: contact@credencetranslations.com.
